Those that frequent the bar often are familiar with our rotating prociutto panini.
We started out with fig jam, but as the seasons change so does our jam or chutney that we pair with the prociutto and mozzarella. I’m always so happy with whatever my mother creates for us. Always tangy and sweet…sometimes with a little kick too. It pairs so nicely with the salty prociutto. Well, since figs seem to be taking their sweet time to ripen this year my mother has been going a little outside of the box. She made an amazing peach chutney that is quickly becoming a new favorite.
Thanks Mom!
It also pairs beautifully with one of our crisp white wine like the new St. John’s Cellars Pinot Blanc.

I have done a certain level of chronicling Trav and I’s marriage in the blog…I suppose I should focus more on the bar. Yet, Travis and I pretty much live and breath Leisure, so the the line between our Leisure and our lives is pretty nonexistent. With that being said, I wanted to share how Travis surprised me for our 2 year anniversary.
He took me on a surprise air balloon ride!
Here is Travis helping them fill up the balloon.

I know we look a little scared…but really we are exhausted! We had to get up at 4:00am! Way too early.

Here is a picture of our shadow over a hops field. It was beautiful!

We are so happy to have a returning artist that we love! Tim from teecatdesign@gmail.com showed his work last fall and received many commissions for pet portraits. Including Travis and I commissioning a portrait of my parents Beagle, Simon, for their Christmas present. Here is the little howler.

He made prints of the different paintings he did and has put them up. They look amazing!

I was finally inspired to plant some color in the patio. Until now, I was worried that anything I planted would drown with all the rain we were getting.
I’m so happy to spruce it up!! Here is a picture of the bocce area…

We have a new IPA at Leisure that we are very excited about. Nick and Lani have been coming into Leisure for some time and talked about wanting to open a brewery…and low and behold they did!
Not only did they start one, but their beer is amazing and getting lots of notoriety.
Check out their web sight

We should be serving their IPA for a few more weeks…but it is popular and going fast!

Here is one of our faithful customers (okay, it’s my brother) sporting both the Leisure shirt and the Leisure sweatband on his way to Canada.
Rather bold of Canada claiming to be the “best place on earth.” I’m a little partial to St. Johns myself.

We have yet another wonderful painter that is showcasing their work here at the bar.
It is a great collection with a wide range of subjects.

Of course any St. Johnsian will be partial to this lovely depiction of the St. John’s bridge.

Here are some pictures of my brother and sister modeling (or goofing around with) the Leisure sweat bands.
Charles is looking cool…

Something about these sweat bands inspires silliness. Not sure why…

Then I just wanted to add this picture of my mom…a sweat band would have messed up her hair.
